Red Sox season isn’t over yet!! Ok–so they are not off to a great start but it is a long season! There is still time!
This past weekend I was asked to make an “I owe you” type of birthday card as a few of us were pitching in (get it! ” Pitching in”—-I crack me up!) for tickets to a Sox game later in the year….when they are better! I thought–piece of cake. I was sure I had something that would easily work…..but I didn’t have ANYthing—I had a soccer stamp set….and a Christmas stocking punch–neither of which I could make work. SO–I did what anyone in my situation would do—I googled “baseball” images. Whenever you are in need of inspiration–google something! You’d be surprised how your brain will start to work!
So in the end, this is what I came up with:
To make the ball, I used my 2 1/2″ circle punch. I then punched two more sides of a circle and adhered them onto the original circle. Using a scrap circle as a template, I was able to use my “eye-poker-outer” (paper piercer) and create the holes following the angle of the “seam”. Using the small end of the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, I was able to make “stitching”.
The rest of the card was textured up using the Lattice Square and Houndstooth embossing folders as well as the Scallop Square Duos (the larger one) Die.
I think it all worked out—just glad they didn’t ask me to do a football card!!
