Woo Hoo!

I am a fan of ALL of the current single stamps so I was THRILLEd when Stampin’ Up! announced that they would be available for a few extra months! You have until JULY 31st to get these goodies!

This card was essentially CASED (*copy and steal everything) from Sharon Burket and Linda Heller….sort of a combo of two cards that they did…..but for the life of me, I can’t find the originals….so suffice it to say, that is where this card originated.

This chalkboard art is very popular now and I LOVE how this stamp works perfectly with it.  Some people prefer to emboss the image with white embossing powder for a darker, raised image.  I like the softer look of just stamping the image with white craft ink.   I feel it has a very authentic look to it.  After stamping the image, I sponged a little of the white craft ink in different areas of the card to give it true “chalkboard” look.   I used the Watercolor Wonder Crayons to color in the cake (making it a Red Velvet cake) and the sleeve of the server.   Sadly, the watercolor crayons are retiring….along with the Baja Breeze Cardstock and Seam Binding used here.  (  See yesterday’s post regarding retiring colors)    BUT—if they aren’t sold out yet (I am writing this post on Friday night), get over to my store and order them right away—-and good news for you to ease your sorrow about this beautiful color retiring—-FREE SHIPPING for EVERYTHING you order all weekend!!!!   Now, don’t you feel better??!!

This was a card we did with my clubs a couple of months ago.  If you might be interested in joining my clubs, drop me a note.
