Pinterest Pays Off!

Ok–the Make and Takes, , I mean Take and Makes from the Stampin’ Up! Convention are ALMOST done but I will be sharing them with my team tomorrow morning at our meeting….and then I promise to post them.   So fun to stamp someone else’s ideas!!

Speaking of ideas, I needed one for a gift for a friend the other day.  I did what any resourceful, craft minded woman would do and went to my “boards” on Pinterest.  After all, I have devoted hours of time carefully selecting those ideas I deem worthy of “pinning”, I knew there had to be something I could use…..and I was right!!   Here is what I whipped up with an inexpensive Home Goods frame (I devote hours there too!!—SHHHHHHHH!)

The paper in the back is literally an old book.   I have no idea where I got it but I can assure you, if you are a fan of Pinterest,, you will be needing an old book—so pick one up when you get a chance.  You could use any Designer Paper for the background but I needed mine to be vintage and neutral and this fit the bill perfectly.

I used my Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits which cuts and embosses 5 different sized butterflies at a time.   Here is a photo to give you a better idea of what I am talking about:

Cool, eh?   Well, I couldn’t stop there!  I needed a matching card!   Easy to do as my butterflies were already cut and ready to be used!

You can click on the photo for a larger version of it to see the detail if you would like.

So there you go—the hours you spend on Pinterest CAN pay off when you need a gift for a sweet friend!   You may keep this blog post as evidence!
