I know I have been away for a bit. My kids were on school break last week…..except both of them spent the week working on school related projects and we had a house full of various kids working on various things at various times. The computer was mine when they were done….which usually coincided with when I was “done”…..so no blogging took places. BUT–they are back in school and I am back to blogging.
I wanted to share with you a simple design that was inspired by one of my current favorite kits in the Celebrate the Everyday catalog (check out the catalog here). This kit, Happenings Simply Created Card Kit, is easily overlooked on page 31 of the catalog….but it shouldn’t be! The kit has the makings of 15 cards (for $14.95, mind you!)m that will dazzle their recipients! The kit itself does not contain any word stamps but there is a complimentary word set, Says it All that works great. However, if you have been stamping for any time at all, you probably have a word set that will work. Here is a sample of just one of the designs you can make with the kit:
Simple but striking! There is no cutting or punching required. This kit contains it ALL! In real life, the silver glimmer paper (which, by the way, comes in the kit already cut into banner shapes! You are welcome!) makes this card!! I highly recommend this kit for those of you who want to create a quick but striking card without a lot of effort….and really, which one of you doesn’t want to make a quick but striking card without a lot of effort?
For those of you who already own a lot of stuff (and you know who you are!), here is how you can use YOUR stuff to whip up a couple cards, same design, different feel:
This more vintage feel was created using the same design but switching out the paper–to Soho Subway. I used Burlap Ribbon (a must have!) and switched the button embellishment from the Kit card to a In Color Dahlia.
This last card, which I think says FRESH all over, was made with the same design but using supplies from the SaleABration catalog. This paper, Sweet Sorbet, and this stamp set , See Ya Later are both FREE! (Check out the deals you can get until the end of March here). My “embellishment” here is a simple neutrals Candy Dot.
So there you go—1 design, 3 different feels.
