When I was a little girl, I attended a Girl Scout camp one summer. We had a 2 week camp (as I remember) and it culminated with a big 1 night overnight. That was a big deal. I remember my mother secretly packed up more snacks than a tent full of girl scouts could possibly eat in an old fashion Ritz Crackers tin and tucked it into my bag.
I am sure it was in a tin so that the bears wouldn’t sniff it out! If it wasn’t in that tin, I might not be here telling this story today! In any case, inside was tucked a note from my mom wishing me well—on my big overnight adventure! I do remember that it made me cry–and probably more homesick–but I felt loved. Now, when my kids go on overnights for events (not just over friend’s houses—that would be crazy talk!), I try to send them with a note/card –so they, too, can feel the love!
Today, my daughter is on a school trip for DECA (has something to do with business. After all these years, I still don’t know what it stands for!). This morning I tucked this card into her duffle and added some corny note about “donut give up“. (Get it?–I’lll wait….)
I know the photo is not great but you get the idea. I LOVE this embossing folder, Happy Heart because it looks great either on either side (some folders ‘translate’ better than others when you flip them over). Here is a close up so you can see what I am talking about:
With all the great new products in the Occasions catalog, we sometimes forget about the “old ones”. I sometimes feel bad for those products in the “big catalog” that get overlooked as soon as the new catalogs come out. I learned many things in Girl Scouts and one is that song that will run through your head all day~~
Make new friends but keep the old;
One is silver and the other gold!
(Admit it–you are singing it now! And it will go through your head all day—You’re welcome!) In any case, don’t forget about this great pack of DSP (Cherry On Top) and this great stamp set, Perfect Pennants.

Enjoy your day and take time to stamp something with an “old” stamp. It, too, needs love!
Thanks for stopping by.
