Stamp A Stack Samples

Stamp A Stack Samples

I had a great time this weekend meeting with my local group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.   They are so talented and FUN!   I challenged them to come up with some “Manly” card samples this month.   I will take photos today of their works of art to share with you.

In the meantime, it is Stamp  A Stack week.   That means I am having classes where we will make a stack of cards.   If you are local, I hope you can attend!  (RSVP here.)

I apologize for this photo.  (Can I just say, it is time for a new phone!).  In any case, I hope you get the idea.  These are two of the cards we will be doing this week:

blog 4:24

Both of these cards are using sets that will be retiring soon!  (Chase Your Dreams and Crazy About You).   I know!  It breaks my heart too!  If you want to see/purchase any retiring items, you can find then all here.

Card fit for a Rockette!

Card fit for a Rockette!

I once heard that the Rockettes are so uniform that they must be between 5’6″ and 5’10”.  So I am out!  Frankly, I would NEVER have been in–even if I was 3″ taller.   But the point of this (Pointe–get it?!) is that uniformity can sometimes be a good–even GREAT thing!  When you see dancers doing the exact same thing at the exact same time–it is beautiful!

Today, I had the chance to play with a new stamp set called Beautiful You.

This stamp set has fantastic greetings.  That is the first thing that drew me to it.   Obviously, a LOT of people have been drawn towards this set as it is all over Pinterest!

In any case, I loved the dance-y image in this set and thought it would make a great “kickline” picture.  Afterall, the dancers would be exactly the same height and be dancing exactly the same move.   So here is my kickline card:

(This also features the gorgeous paper, Falling In Love DSP)

SO–IF you have a friend who just became a Rockette, here is the card for you!   If you don’t, there are all sorts of other great cards you can make from this set.   Stay tuned for more from me this week.

In the meantime, I am having a Stamp A Stack for those of you who are local next WEDNESDAY night.  You can find the details and register here.  Here are a couple of the cards we will be making.

SO much going on!  Who ever thought that summer was a kick-back and relax time of year was woefully mistaken.   Here is some of what is going on in my little corner of the world:

cupcakecards

Come learn to make cupcakes AND cards next Wednesday night at the The Cake Bar in Franklin, MA.  The fine women of The Cake Bar are in charge of the cupcakes and I am in charge of the cards.  You will leave with 2 of each

You must register with The Cake Bar so call them right away to hold your spot!( 508)553-8700.

Monday, I had my new catalog Open House!   Here are some photos of the fun!   I have been having a ball creating with the new products in the catalog and had a bunch on display.   My guests made some projects featuring the remarkably large and gorgeous Delightfully Dahlia background stamp and the oh-so-trendy Bohemian Borders and Bohemian DSP.

The good people at Stampin’ Up! do their very best to photograph the products we sell in their catalogs.  Sometimes, however, the photos just don’t REALLY represent how fantastic the goodies are.  This year, I feel like we have THE BEST designer series paper that we have ever had—and the photos just don’t do it justice.   I am not sure my photos are worthy either but I wanted to give you a glimpse at the GORGEOUS English Garden DSP and tell you my story:

blog june17.1

This 12 x 12 double sided paper is STUNNING!!   So stunning, in fact, you may be weary to cut it up and use it!!!   I don’t think  you are a true crafter if you haven’t had that thought, “but is this project worthy of using my favorite paper?!”.  Truth is, YES!!!  Use it up!!!  (I know where you can get more!).   It is PAPER, people!   Your project IS worthy of it!  And the recipient of the project–even worthier!

I wanted to thank a friend of mine for —really–everything!  She is always there to help out and/or brighten a day.  You must have a friend like that.  I hope you do, anyhow.  I recently got her a litle something (socks–don’t ask!) and needed to package them up (because without pretty packaging–socks are sort of a stupid gift!).   I pulled out our new Gift Bag Punch Board and –yes–THIS DSP and made this:

blog june17.2

(The ribbon is retired Hello Honey Satin Ribbon).

Here is a close up of the bag:

blog june17.3

And I had enough DSP left over to add some to the card.   My friend is ALSO worthy of using the Expressions Natural Elements.   These little gems can be altered or used just as they are right out of the package.  I like using “green glue” (Tombo Multi Purpose Glue) to adhere them as it is easy and reliable to hold 3-D items like this.

blog june17.4Here is hoping that you have a friend worthy of your prettiest paper~!  Go make them something!!

Other supplies used:

Crazy About You, Honeycomb EF, Big Shot

Feel free to contact me if I can help you out with anything!!

Cupcakes (REAL ones) & Cards

Standard

It has been a busy week filled with frosting!  So much that I am taking a break from cake….at least for the day.  My little family of 4 celebrate 4 birthdays (that is right!) in 6 days.  The frosting fest is officially over.  In fact, it ended early this year as the final birthday girl decided she did NOT want cake but instead, opted for Monkey Bread.   I knew we couldn’t finish a whole Monkey Bread on our own and it really only is perfect when warm so we wouldn’t want to save it.  SO– I made Monkey  Muffins!  Huge hit and perfect size.  Let me know if you want the recipe.

That said, I will be wanting more cake in a few days —Who doesn’t like cupcakes?!   Well, I have teamed up with the fabulous ladies at The Cake Bar in Franklin for a Cupcakes & Cards Class.   Guests will be making 2 cupcakes AND 2 cupcake cards!  What a great way to celebrate the end of the school year, the beginning of summer, or frankly, Wednesday!   You don’t even have to share the cupcakes if you don’t want to.  No judgement!  Check out the cards we are making and reserve your spot!!

blog june 10cupcakeYou must register with The Cake Bar to hold your spot.  They can be reached at (508)553-8700.

Looking forward to it!
