You would be crazy not to join now—nothing to lose!  I promise you, no one ever regrets it!  This is a perfect time for previous demonstrators, club members, and those new addictees to stamping!  Find out more here….but don’t wait!  This special ends tonight!

Ok–down to business.  I promised I would show you some Halloween cards I have been making this week.  This one was inspired by the challenge over at As You See It Challenge Blog.   They had pretty pearls in their sketch….I was at a loss there until I saw my creepy washi tape (Witches’ Brew) sitting there.   What do you think?

Tip:  If you want to use Washi Tape like “ribbon” or designer paper, you can either apply it directly to the cardstock OR you can apply it to a strip of cardstock to alter the color.  I wanted white and pumpkin pie so I backed it with white cardstock and then applied it to the black card base.

Here is a close up of the spiders altered with a little “Green Glue” (Tombow Multipurpose Glue) and Black Glitter.

Here are the supplies used.   Feel free to come shopping for them right here.

Now,  normally  I don’t do a LOT of Halloween cards but there are so many cute things you can do with them, that I gave in.  I have a few samples to show you over the next coming days.

This one  was inspired by this challenge over at Clean & Simple  .  Here is their challenge:

blogoct20.1And here is my creation:

It is a little tough to see here, but I used Heat and Stick Powder and then the new Black Glitter from Stampin’ Up! to make the bats all sparkly.  Nothing like a sparkly bat to send shivers up your spine!

To finish off the card, I used a little Gorgeous Grunge on the inside.  I though it made this witch look like she was REALLY soaring across the sky. What  do you think??

Happy to help you out with any questions or supplies you might need!  Just give me a holler.

Stamp Sets:  Halloween Hello, Gorgeous Grunge

Best of Flowers and Library Leftovers

It has been a rough week.  One that I am happy  to see end.   So let’s end it on a happy note.   A couple of weeks ago I had a class at the local library.  I had some supplies left over and needed to use them up…..but, being the Gemini I am, I got bored making the same card over and over.    But I am also lazy….and didn’t want to get any more supplies out.  SO–given what I had for supplies and just the Best of Flowers set, here is what I came up with for some simple cards with my “Library Leftovers”:

All products Stampin' Up!

All products Stampin’ Up!

Wishing you a peaceful weekend and time to enjoy whatever brings you joy.

I have had some “issues” with chipmunks this past year.  If you live in New England, that probably does not come as a surprise to you!  Don’t get me wrong~~they ARE adorable….and Chip and Dale are high on my list of favorite characters…..but when they eat ALL of the bird seeds AND the people food (tomatoes, cukes, beans, etc) AND then the FLOWERS–that is about all I can handle!  Last year I tried a variety of “diversion” tactics….some worked….but had other side effects….most  tactics jus simply did not work!

Well, we are about to plant our garden.   I know that I am 3 weeks too late but for us, that is 2 weeks early!   I mentioned to my family how I was worried about what we could do to keep the chipmunks from eating the garden this year.   Well, Allie, my only niece chimes in, “Marigolds–plant Marigolds–they don’t like the smell and they stay away!”.   SO, while I was purchasing some flowers this year, I picked up a punch of marigolds to try out Allie’s theory.  When I got home, I placed –didn’t plant just in case it didn’t work– a bunch of marigolds at the base of the bird feeder.   That has been a favorite place of theirs to mock me.  Well, that was about a week ago and so far, I have only seen ONE chipmunk attempt to climb the pole to get to the bird feeder.   In Allie’s defense, he looked like he had allergies and probably couldn’t smell anything!  So–I think I am actually going to PLANT those Marigolds and line my vegetable garden with them too!  Thanks, Allie!

Ok–on to today’s sample:

I am DESPERATELY waiting for my order of new goodies to come in so I can start working on samples for my Catalog Kick Off Open House (Buy One Get One FREE) on June 16th (See here for details).   BUT–I was able to get some new things ahead of time –and for FREE–Thank YOU , Stampin’Up!.   This card features Patio Party (#126916) Designer Paper.  This pack of paper uses some of the new In Colors–Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfish  Starfruit.  Summer Starfruit is by far the most different color and because of that, I love it.  It takes a little more to match it up with other colors but when you do match it well, it is a stunning combo!  Because I am not an artist, I start with those that know.   If the artist at SU  tell me that Midnight Muse matches Summer Starfruit, I listen.  And, they were RIGHT!

See what I mean?

You may not recognize this as the Patio Party Paper because you have never seen this side of it!  Stampin’ Up!’s designer paper is double-sided and the OTHER side of this —-A-DOR–A-BLE!!  It is full of cute cupcakes….so you are not likely to see this side often–although it is pretty in its own right.  The stamped images along the side are actually the Posy Party Wheel (in Midnight Muse) accented with a little Baja Breeze.  Finally, the piece de resistance (Is that how you spell that??) is the Paper Daisies.  You get 40 of these cuties per package for only $6.95!  They come in 4 different sizes (10 of each).  FUN!

Happy Tuesday!

Come On, Get Happy!

Remember the Partridge Family??  If you do, you now will have that song going through your head all day!  If not, you don’t know what you are missing!  Go ahead and google it!  You won’t be sorry…or maybe you will but it will make you smile anyhow!

Well, Stampin’ Up! is introducing a brand new catalog with oodles of new stamps  and accessories in just a few short weeks!  It goes “live ”  (Doesn’t that sound official?) on June 1st!!!!!!  As a demonstrator, we are able to get our new catalogs early….and mine is coming TODAY!!!!!  Unfortunately, my UPS man doesn’t get here until about dinner time…..argh!!!

In any case, I was able to get a little sneak peek for you with the new stamp set and new IN-Colors—That’s right–the latest and greatest colors happenin’ in the world of color!  This is from a new set called Betty’s  Betsy’s Blossoms!   What a fun set!  It really reminds me of the Partridge Family birds.  I know–they went the other way (to the left)  but , no matter!  They had to turn around at SOME point!   I so wish Stampin’ Up! came out with a stamp set with the greeting, “Come on, get happy!”.   Here’s hopin’!!

Cardstock :  Whisper White Notecards, Primsose Petals, Gumball Green, Whisper White

Ink:  Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit

Stamp set:  Betty’s  Betsy’s Blossoms, Fabulous Phrases

Other:  Cutest lil brads EVER! (“Mini Brads”), Dimensionals
